These are the classes for the Summer Shows:

Classes and times may be subject to change and will be updated here.

Key to Qualifiers: GBR: GBRider, E: Equifest, ST: Sunshine Tour, ISS: International Showing Society, TSR: TSR Riders Championships
Commences at approximately 9:00am
Class: 11 - 55cm/1ft 9in Minimus (ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Maximum fence height of 55cm/1ft 9in.
Competitors in this class are not eligible to enter classes 14 onwards.

Class: 12 - 60cm/2ft Complete Novice (ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 60cm/2ft in the first round.
Competitors in this class are not eligible to enter classes 15 onwards.

Class: 13 - 70cm/2ft 3in Novice (GBR/ST/ISS)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 70cm/2ft 3in in the first round.

Class: 14 - 80cm/2ft 6in Novice Open (GBR/ST/ISS)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 80cm/2ft 6in in the first round.

Class: 15 - 85cm/2ft 9in Intermediate (GBR/ST/ISS)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 85cm/2ft 9in in the first round.

Class: 16 - 90cm/3ft Small Open (ST/ISS)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Maximum fence height of 90cm/3ft.

Class: 17 - 1m/3ft 3in Open (GBR/ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Maximum fence height of 1m/3ft 3in.
This class will only be run if sufficient entries.

Commences at approximately 9:30am
Class: 21 - Lead Rein Leapers (ST)
Maximum fence height of 15cm/6in. Poles will be placed on the ground. A rosette will be awarded to every competitor.
Complete beginners - Riders MUST be led.

Class: 22 - Pole Poppers (ST)
Maximum fence height of 30cm/1ft. A rosette will be awarded to every competitor.
Class is split: a) Led b) Unled.

Class: 23 - Happy Hurdlers
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Maximum fence height of 40cm/1ft 3in.
Class is split: a) Led b) Unled.

Class: 24 - Nursery Stakes (ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 45cm/1ft 6in.
No lead rein.

Class: 25 - Peter Pan (ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Fence height of 55cm/1ft 9in in the first round.
No lead rein.

Class: 26 - Cradle Stakes (ST)
Any combination of horse/pony and rider. Maximum fence height of 60cm/2ft.
No lead rein.

Commences at approximately 9:30am
Class: 31 - 1ft 6in Junior Working Hunter Pony (GBR)
Rider under 16 years old. Ponies under 14.2hh. GBR Cradle Stakes qualifier, Ponies under 122cm, Rider under 10 years old on 1st January in the current year.

Class: 32 - 1ft 6in Novice Working Hunter
Must not have been placed 1st in any working hunter class before 1st January in the current year.

Class: 33 - Show Hunter Pony (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Ages at 1st January in the current year. May be led.
Class will not be split.

Class: 34 - 1ft 9in Working Hunter (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Rider of any age. Equfiest: For ponies not exceeding 122cm inc M&M ponies. GBR nursery stakes: Ponies under 133cm and riders under 12 years on the 1st January in the current year.

Class: 35 - Family Horse or Pony (GBR/ST)
For horses and ponies of all heights, types and ages. No lead rein and snaffle bridle only.
Must be suitable to be ridden by all members of the family.

Class: 36 - 2ft 3in Working Hunter (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Rider of any age. Equfiest: For ponies of 122-133cm inc M&M ponies. GBR qualifier: WH ponies not exceeding 133cm, novice working hunter and M&M working hunter between 122-138cm.

Class: 37 - 2ft 6in Working Hunter (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Rider of any age. Equfiest: For ponies of 133-143cm inc M&M ponies. GBR qualifier: WH ponies 133-143cm, novice working hunter and M&M hunter exceeding 138cm.

Class: 38 - Ridden Hunter (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Judge may ride.
Class will not be split.

RING CHAMPIONSHIP
Commences at approximately 9:00am
Class: 41 - Best Turned Out (GBR/ST)
Open to horses and ponies. Riders of any age, inc lead rein.

Class: 42 - Novice Rider (GBR/ST)
Walk and trot showing class for novices. May be split between horses and ponies. All types, sizes and ages. For competitors who have not won this class in a previous season.
For novice riders who have never won a showing class before the show (this does not include lead rein).

Class: 43 - Coloured/Odd Coloured (GBR/TSR/E/ISS/ST)
For all types of coloured. Riders of any age.
Class will not be split.

Class: 44 - Foreign Breeds/Rare Breeds (GBR/TSR/ISS/ST)
Open to all breeds including Arabs and part breeds.
Rare breeds to be registered with Rare Breeds Survival Trust

NOT BEFORE 11:00am
Class: 45 - Lead Rein (GBR/TSR/E/ISS/ST)
Ponies not to exceed 12.2hh. For child under 9 years old on 1st January in the current year. Snaffle bridle.
Lead rein must be connected to noseband. Plaited or unplaited.

Class: 46 - First Ridden (GBR/TSR/E/ST/ISS)
Ponies not to exceed 13.2hh. For child under 12 years old on 1st January in the current year.
Plain snaffles only with plain noseband. Plaited or unplaited.

Class: 47 - Childrens Pony (TSR)
Ponies 14.2hh and under. Rider under 16 years old on 1st January in the current year.

Class: 48 - Pony Club/Riding Club Pony (GBR/TSR/ST)
Riders 25 years old and under on 1st January in the current year. Special rosette to highest placed PC member wearing their badge.

RING CHAMPIONSHIP
Commences at approximately 9:00am
Class: 51 - Youngstock (GBR/ISS)
Can be run as a combined class for 1, 2 and 3 year olds. Open to mares, geldings and stallions.
Stallions must NOT be handled by someone younger than 14 years old on the 1st January in the current year.

Class: 52 - Veteran Horse and Pony (GBR/ISS/ST)
Open to all horses and ponies aged 15 and over.
Class may be split

Class: 53 - Best Condition - Grass Kept (GBR/ST)
Open to horses and ponies turned out 24/7 for over 9 months of the year.

Class: 54 - Mountain and Moorland Small Breeds (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Registered. Open to mares, geldings and stallions.

NOT BEFORE 10:15am
Class: 55 - Hunter Horse/Pony (GBR/ISS/TSR/ST)
Open to mares, geldings and stallions. Any height and age. GBR 2 qualifiers: Under 153cm and 153cm and over.

Class: 56 - Young/Best Child Handler (GBR/ISS/ST/TSR)
Open to mares and geldings .a) Handlers under 11 year old on 1st January in the current year. b) Handlers between 11 and 16 years old on 1st January in the current year.
Split into two sections if sufficient entries.

Class: 57 - Riding Horse (GBR/ST/TSR)
Open to mares, geldings and stallions, any height and age.
Class will not be split.

Class: 58 - Hansom Gelding & Prettiest Mare
Class open to all Mares and Geldings of all ages/heights. Class will be judged based upon Judges opinion

RING CHAMPIONSHIP
Commences at approximately 9:00am
Class: 61 - Unregistered Mountain and Moorland (ISS)
Including part-bred.

Class: 62 - Cob/Maxi/Traditional (GBR/ISS/E/ST/TSR)
Open to all types of Cob

Class: 63 - Best Rider (GBR/ST/TSR)
To be judged purely on the riders ability not on the horse or pony. GBR qualifier: Rider under 14 years old on 1st January in the current year.

Class: 64 - Veteran (GBR/ISS/TSR/ST)
Open to all horses and ponies aged 15 years and over.

NOT BEFORE 10:30am
Class: 65 - Retrained Racehorse (GBR/TSR)
Open to mares, geldings and stallions. Any height and age.
Must have been raced or been registered on Weatherbys or equivalent race register.

Class: 66 - Riding Horse (GBR/ISS/E/ST/TSR)
148cm and above horses of riding horse type. GBR 2 qualifiers: Small - under 158cm and Large - 158cm and over.

Class: 67 - Mountain and Moorland (GBR/ISS/E/ST/TSR)
Registered.
Class may be split - Large breeds and Small breeds.

Class: 68 - Riding Club Horse (GBR/TSR/ST)
Horses exceeding 153cm which make a good all-rounder for riding club activities.

RING CHAMPIONSHIP
Commences at approximately 9:00am
Class: 71 - Foreign Breeds/Rare Breeds (GBR/ISS/TSR/ST)
Open to all breeds including Arabs and part breeds.
Rare breeds to be registered with Rare Breeds Survival Trust

Class: 72 - Mountain and Moorland Large Breeds (GBR/ISS/ST/E)
Open to ponies registered with their pure breed register. Open to mares, geldings and stallions.

Class: 73 - Unregistered Mountain and Moorland (ISS)
Including part-bred.

Class: 74 - Best Condition - Stable Kept (GBR/ST)
Open to horses and ponies stabled 9 out of 12 months.

NOT BEFORE 10:45am
Class: 75 - Cob/Maxi/Traditional (GBR/ISS/ST/TSR)
Open to all types of Cob.

Class: 76 - Blemishes Don't Count
Open to all horses and ponies. Judged on manners and turnout. Any blemishes, scars etc... not counted.

Class: 77 - Driving Type (GBR/TSR)
For horses and ponies to make good driving types.

Class: 78 - Coloured/Odd Coloured (GBR/ISS/E/ST)
For any types of coloured. Any height.
Class may be split Coloured/Odd Coloured if sufficent entries.

RING CHAMPIONSHIP

This will take place in the first available ring after showing classes have finished.

Entry Fees: £3.00 per race
Members: All 6 races for £12.00
Non-members: All 6 races for £15.00

The 6 races will be anounced on the day choosen from the list below:

  • Walk, trot & canter

Not all races will feature during the season.

Classes will be split into 4 age groups:

A) 6 years old and under.
C) 11-14 years old.

B) 7-10 years old.
D) Open.

  • Anyone being led must be led for all classes.
  • Leading is by a lead rope only.
  • It is the leaders and riders responsibility to listen to the rules of each race when explained by the Judge.
  • Riders must wear correct footwear with a heel and a correctly fitting helmet that complies to the current safety standards.
